Demonstrations in the heart of Tel Aviv for the release of hostages from Hamas; Netanyahu’s government is under the pressure of public opinion
In the first major anti-government demonstration in Israel since the war began on October 7, hundreds of people marched in Tel Aviv’s Habima Square on Saturday against the government of Benjamin Netanyahu and called for immediate elections.
According to The Times of Israel, participants protested Netanyahu’s handling of the war and his failure to free the remaining hostages, calling for his replacement through early elections.
On January 7th, in a meeting with the representatives of the families of the hostages who have been held by Hamas since Mehr 15, the Israeli Prime Minister said: “Israel is negotiating for the release of the hostages who remain in Gaza.”
